Bermuda by Twizy

This summer, travellers visiting Bermuda will, for the first time, be able to hire a vehicle to explore the 21 square-mile sub-tropical paradise. Car hire is not available on the island and visitors usually explore using the excellent bus and ferry service, or hire scooters, bicycles or taxis. However, a fleet of 25, two seater, Renault Twizy electric cars from Current Vehicles Bermuda are now available from a variety of hotels across the island. Bermuda is easy and safe to navigate around when exploring from one hidden gem to another and the Twizy’s provide a new four wheeled experience for visitors to explore the island on their own.

The Twizy, designed by Renault’s Formula One racing team, stands for “twin” and “easy” and is a narrow two-seated electric car which can travel up to 50 miles on a single charge. Similar to a golf cart, the Twizy has enough room to pack a golf bag for those wanting to tee off from one of the six world class golf courses, or to simply explore Bermuda’s landmarks; from St. George’s UNESCO World Heritage Site to Gibbs Hill Lighthouse, one of the oldest cast iron lighthouses in the world. They also make an easy and convenient alternative way of getting to and from Bermuda’s iconic pink sand beaches.

The Twizys are available from $100 per day on a first-come, first-served basis, for visitors 18 years and older with a valid driver’s licence.
