Stella clad Nancy Shevell weds Paul McCartney

Standing on the steps of Marylebone Registry Office, Sir Paul McCartney breathed a huge sigh of relief following his marriage to American heiress Nancy Shevell.

Wearing a full sleeved three quarter length Stella McCartney dress, Sir Paul McCartney’s fiancée Nancy, 51, looked effortlessly graceful as they arrived together at the central London Registry Office.

Although the Worlds media had begun to assemble from 6.am the first guests didn’t actually arrive until around 3pm. The timing of the wedding was kept a secret although many had guessed that  it would coincide with TV networks in the US.

Amongst the VIP guests who attended this special occasion was Ringo Starr.  

Paul McCartney left his house at approximately 1.00pm with bride-to-be Nancy. They were followed to Lords Cricket ground before returning returning home. The couple changed and headed to the Marylebone Registry Office in Westminster together.

At 4.pm Sir Paul McCartney and his fiancée Nancy Shevell arrived at Registry Office.

The  service lasted approximately an hour before Mr and Mrs McCartney greeted the press.

Celebrities who attended the wedding reception included Ringo Starr, Twiggy and Ronnie Wood.
