Preeya adds spice to London Mela

Londoners turned out in their thousands to catch a glimpse of former Eastenders beauty Preeya Kalidas who was performing her new single ‘Shimmy’ at the Mela Festival in Gunnersbury Park.

The gutsy Londoner who played the role of Amira Shah in Eastenders hit the stage at 7.30pm and the 8,000 capacity crowd acknowledged her presence with screams, shouts, whistles and even the odd vuvuzela.

Accompanied by two professional dancers Preeya Kalidas had seemingly endless reserves of raw energy which she used to great effect during raunchy performance of Shimmy.

There were signs of nervousness to begin with but as the song wore on Preeya’s confidence grew and by the close of set few people could doubt Preeya’s decision to pursue her career in music.
