Known for her fine taste in fashion, Noisettes lead singer Shingai Shoniwa has collaborated with millinery designer Catherine Elizabeth to produce an exquisite collection of designer hats.

Wearing an ivory white full length Julian Macdonald couture dress, Shingai Shoniwa looked on point for the launch. Constantly challenging convention has enabled Shingai to experiment creatively through music, art and fashion.

Designers including Julian MacDonald have embraced Shoniwa’s sharp sense of style which has helped reinforce Shoniwa’s status within the music and fashion industry.

Speaking to Flyer Newspaper at the launch Shingai said: “Fashion and style has played a key role in my development as a recording artist. The collaboration with Catherine Elizabeth began in June 2011 and I’m really happy with the result.

My biggest challenge tonight is getting my mothers approval. She appears to like the collection so I’m quite relieved.”

Celebrities who attended this event included Emmanuel, TV stylist Vernon Francois, BB, Janelle Oswald and X Factor’s Amelia Lilly.

Five became two – rocked by internal issues Rochelle Wiseman and Vanessa White from the Saturdays were spotted at Capital Radio’s charity appeal.

The girls greeted fans but when asked by fans where Frankie Sandford was the girls remained silent.

It’s fair to assume that Black Eyed Peas front lady, Fergie (Stacy Ann Ferguson) is one of pop’s most reclusive individuals. Away from the spotlight Californian born fashion designer Fergie is happy not to share the limelight with her more extrovert band members.

In London, Fergie’s low profile existence makes for quite a challenge to the paparazzi or so we thought.

last but by no means least, music legend Billy Ocean was spotted at the Hilton, Mayfair.

Wimbledon is in full swing but before all the action on court came all the action off court. The WTA Official Pre-Wimbledon Party was held at the Kensington Rooftop Gardens in London.

So who did really step up to the mark on the fashion stakes this year? For this post Flyer’s fashion Editor and debonair shoe designer Dionne Gooding cast her eye on a few off court creations.

This lady clearly loves tennis. She stood out from the crowd in her luminous tennis ball dress and matching hat.

Fashionista and vocalist from the Noisettes, Shingai Shoniwa looked hot as usual in her heavily embellished transparent dress. I’m loving the feathers which are a key look this season.

The lady in red Maria Sharapova looked amazing. I especially love her cute clutch and bold gold jewelry.

Alexis Jordan went for the Grecian look. She looked very cute in her electric blue asymmetrical style dress.

Other guests included the fantastic French Open winner Na-Li who will be going for gold at Wimbledon.

Former Pussycat Doll Kimberley Wyatt turned heads on the purple carpet.

And so did Vocalist Eliza Doolittle.

Girl group Parade ticked all the right boxes also.

Defending Wimbledon champion Serena Williams kept the paparazzi waiting for two hours in torrential rain but it was worth the wait. Overcoming a life-threatening clot the fact that Serena is taking part is a reflection of her tenacity.

The scars from her injury were plain to see.

A top line-up of talent including global superstar and ambassador Alicia Keys attended the Keep a Child Alive Black Ball fundraiser at the Camden Roundhouse in London.

Despite suffering from a slight wardrobe malfunction on arrival, Alicia Keys looked every inch in control of the situation although one journalist commented on the whether Alicia’s belt was too tight around the tummy.

The change in venue from Westminster to Camden was welcomed by all even though George Michael and Tennis star Serena Williams were unable to attend.

There’s been much speculation as to the nature of the un confirmed relationship between X Factor contestants Rebecca Fergusson and Zain Malik (One Direction), however when Zain arrived un-announced to support Rebbeca Ferguson who was performing at a charity gig in London, gossip columns were set to go into overdrive.

Arriving in a blacked out Audi, X Factor’s Rebecca was the last act to arrive at 9.30pm. 10.30pm much to everyone’s surprise Zain Malik was whisked through the back door entrance. “You could hear whoops of delight.” said a person collecting autographs.

An hour later Rebecca and Zain left the venue together; Zain however tried his best to evade being photographed however Rebecca looking radiant smiled at the cameras.

The couple were driven away at speed but not before Rebecca gave Zain an affectionate kiss on the cheek. They also avoided joining the other artists at the after party in Upper Street, Islington.

The Charity gig at the Union Chapel was hosted by Paloma Faith and was attended by artists who included Shingai Shoniwa, Rox, Rebecca Ferguson and Baby Sol.

Shingai Shoniwa (above) said “It was a beautiful night and such a great atmosphere.”

Rox said “It was an amazing crowd and so many great acts.”

The much renowned Baby Sol who reportedly arrived with her ironing board is also Paloma Faith’s backing singer.

Jennifer Hudson was in fine form as she launched her new album ‘I Remember Me’ at the IVY restaurant in Soho, London.

Some of the UK’s top showbiz talent attended the official London launch of Jennifer Hudson’s album, I Remember Me.

The launch which felt like more of a party included talent: solo artist Keisha Buchanan (founding member of Sugababes), Shingai Shoniwa (Noisettes), solo artist Paloma Faith, Kanya King (MOBO), Skin (Skunkananzi) and so many more.

In the media room the focus of attention shifted towards fashion as the two celebrity guests Sabrina Washington and Shingai Shoniwa entered the media room.

OMG Sabrina Washington looked sensational with her leopard print semi-cropped hair style. Natural makeup complemented with a black sequined Gucci -styled dress was the perfect combo for this star studied showbiz bash.

Shingai Shoniwa is an English singer of Zimbabwean descent and best known as the vocalist and bassist for the UK indie rock band Noisettes. Her first name, Shingai (Shin-GUY) means ‘persevere’ in the Shona language.

Black Sequins seemed to be the order of the day; the beautiful Shingai never fails to impress and the two ‘Divas’ new they were to be the star attraction.

Wearing a classic cut black sequined dress; Shingai Shoniwa has become a style icon in her own right. Her attention to detail is immaculate that has become her hallmark.

African traditional wear also featured heavily on the red carpet at NDORO. Danai, pictured in blue wears a design from House of Khumalo.

What better way to kick start the new year than a trip down to Selfridge’s concept store in central London and visit their nineties inspired retail experience.

The concept store will present an edit of original nineties and nineties inspired products across fashion, accessories, lifestyle, beauty, design, music, media and film.

The nineties project an eclectic mash-up of influences, where the nihilism of Generation X met the hedonism of the 24 hour party people.

Celebrities who attended this exclusive launch included Radio One Xtra DJ: Sarah Jane Parker, Pixie Geldof, Designer – Henry Holland and the fabulous Noisette front women Shingai Shoniwa who said: “I have decided to give my hair a rest. It feels like my hair has become an extra member of the band. I’m tired of going to bed with pins in my hair.”
