Saving the best party till last TV actress / recording artists Preeya  Kalidas hosted the last official pre Xmas showbiz party at the Sanctum Hotel in Soho, London. 

Preeya was joined by her showbiz pals including Lisa Maffia, Terri Walker, Wretch 32 and Keisha Buchanan.

It has been a long time since we’ve seen the talented solo artist Terri Walker on UK shores.

We’ve certainly heard a lot of good things through Flyer’s contacts in the US about Teri Walker. We sure hope Terri stays in the UK for a while.

No celebration is complete without the presence of recording artist Lisa Maffia.

Fortunately we will all be seeing a lot more of Lisa Maffia  on our TV screens next month.

Claudia Webbe (Trident), Daniele Leplant (Banking) and Kanya King (Founder of the MOBO’s) were all snapped at the part at the Sanctum Hotel.

There’s not much more we can write about Keisha Buchanan who always looks sensational. The last Sugababe had it all going on as she rocked into the party at the Sanctum Hotel.

Celeb stylist Mason Smillie was there to make sure everyone was prim and proper. Mason said “Preeya looks totally amazing, she has her own style going on. This is my fourth night of partying.” Following the showbiz party many celebs continued to celebrate Christmas at the Box nightclub in Soho.

Former Sugababes vocalist Keisha Buchanan wowed audiences in London as she performed tracks from her forthcoming solo album.

The launch event was in partnership with Jacques Town House (pop-up boutique).

Arriving early Keisha looked picture perfect as she greeted a select few in the media.

Keisha performed tracks which included: Beautiful Mess, Fearless, Rolling In The Deep, Push The Button / Overload, Carried Away, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun / Run The World (Girls).

Guests included: Horatio from JLS and fantastic new signing VIDA.

Jamie Winstone however appeared to forget whose big day this really was. The entrepreneur reportedly fell in love with the vintage wardrobe collection.

Jamie arrived wearing black and departed in white: “I hope people aren’t getting the wrong message,” said Jamie cheekily.

Speaking of Keisha’s debut performance Jamie said: “Considering this was a live performance Keisha was really fantastic.”  

Jamie wasn’t the only celeb who discovered the vintage treasure trove. Aisleyne Horgan Wallace was barely recognisable and reportedly suffered an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction a few moments later.

The Night did however belong to Keisha who reinforced her credits as the nations favourite Sugababe.

Preeya Khalidas said: “Keisha was really amazing tonight.”

We had to dig hard to find a copy of Keisha’s stunning shoot in this week’s Celeb Magazine (Sunday Mirror). It would appear that either there was a short supply or people were bulk buying.

Keisha looks fantastic as she rocks a 1950’s bob.

It was an embarrassing climb down for Nicole Scherzinger who announced via Twitter that she and Racing Driver Lewis Hamilton were not ‘Engaged’ as reported over the weekend.

Nicole tweeted, “Lewis and I woke up this morning and read we were engaged! Sorry to disappoint u all but its not true.”

The reports were based on an alleged interview with the former Pussycat Doll’s father

Jennifer Hudson was in fine form as she launched her new album ‘I Remember Me’ at the IVY restaurant in Soho, London.

Some of the UK’s top showbiz talent attended the official London launch of Jennifer Hudson’s album, I Remember Me.

The launch which felt like more of a party included talent: solo artist Keisha Buchanan (founding member of Sugababes), Shingai Shoniwa (Noisettes), solo artist Paloma Faith, Kanya King (MOBO), Skin (Skunkananzi) and so many more.

Having given her all at this launch by performing three songs, Jennifer Hudson was ready for bed.

Six of the UK’s top Fashion Bloggers were hand-picked to show off their window dressing skills at a lavish party held at D&G’s flagship store in London.

Celebs from the world of fashion entertainment and music also attended the party in London.

The Dress Me Up Party originated by D&G has showcased emerging talent across the globe. The result of the London event was streamed live across the internet.

Our favourite window display of the night was that created by Marian Kihogo which fused western and African culture. London is a cultural hub and this display challenged convention and still managed to retained D&G’s brand of classic and quirky.

Marian said: “I was contacted several weeks before the event. It was a challenge but D&G are excellent at coming up with these original ideas. I’m really happy with what I have created today but I’m also exhausted.”

Following a report by FLYER Newspaper in January 2010, Mattel have responded by providing FLYER Newspaper’s readers with exclusive pictures of the new ‘So in Style’ range of Black Barbie Dolls which will be available in Selfridges and rolled out across the UK this week!

FLYER reported that during December 2009 hundred’s of women were denied an opportunity to purchase the Black Fashionista Barbie for their children because of a perceived short-fall in demand. Two weeks before Christmas there weren’t any Black Barbies in the Fashionista range available in stores such as Argos, John Lewis, Hamley’s and Selfridges. Infact they had completely sold out of their stock in the south-east of England.  FLYER’s research also revealed that some stores had not been replenished until well into January if at-all…..

Turf Wars

Imagine our surprise when two kings of the bovine world squared up in-front of a FLYPIC’s camera man over a hot-piece of prime turf.

“I was with my daughter visiting the farm when this unexpected scrap took-place.” said Mark Anthony- cameraman. The two animals both went for the same piece of grass and began eye-balling each other. The goat was quarter of the size of the cow and I thought the goat would back down. Both animals took a few paces back then charged.

The goat, realizing that the odds were firmly stacked against it made a side-step and delivered a powerful blow to the side of the bovine beasts head sending it careering down the hill. Astonishingly the goat then ran after the cow and appeared to bully it.

Matthew from FLYER said “This proves that even in the animal kingdom it’s technique that counts…”

The small man with the big heart - He Pingping dies age 22.

At just 74.6cm (2ft 5in) tall, the world’s shortest man, He Pingping, has died in Rome. He was admitted to hospital two weeks ago after suffering a chest complaint and died last Saturday, but his death has only just been announced.

Mr Pingping was in the Italian capital to take part in the filming of a television programme called The Record Show. FLYER met with He Pingping in London where he was officially confirmed as being the worlds smallest man in 2008.

He Pingping posed with Svetlana Pankratova, from Russia who has the world’s Longest Legs, Speaking through his interpreter He Pingping, 22 said: “I’m prone to losing body-weight rapidly therefore I have to keep in close contact with people to stop me from getting hyperthermia.”

People who attended the Cat on a Hot Tin Roof – ACLT charity event were left disappointed when the cast ran to their cars and failed to stop and sign autographs.

One fan said: “We’ve been out here in the cold for over two hours, I don’t understand why they’ve treated us like this….James Earl to his credit sat in his car but we still had to pass our autograph books though the window.  Phylicia Rashad on the other-hand appeared to be on the phone, she had no time for nobody…”

The only person with any credibility here today is Ex Sugababe Keisha Buchanan who genuinely appeared to appreciate her fans – ‘Big up the British’.  

Busty Ex Sugababe Keicha was happy to be snapped in her two tone dress.  The Ex Sugababe oozed quality and jugging by her legions of fans, Keicha is still the nations favourite Suga!!

Kaya Scodelario who appeared on the red carpet of Shank with her ‘boyfriend’ Elliot Tittenser from TV hit series Shameless were so  concerned that their relationship would draw attention away from the film premier they tried desperately hard to keep their hands off each other during the world premier.

A Public Relations person was over-heard saying – “Try not to be pictured together as this might draw attention away from the film.” They tried and they tried but…..it must be love.
