American Flo Rida was today likely to reflect on his demands for complete control of the press following his visit to Movida nightclub in London last night.

By the time the American had disembarked from his white Bentley there were reportedly only two photographers left.

And they were reportedly far more interested in perusing former Miss England beauty Rachel Christie, and face of hair brand Sensationell, Jasmia Robinson.

He is reported to have demanded that; ‘There had to be clear sight of the clubs front door or else he was not coming in,’ according to security.

On hearing this news many of the paparazzo’s took off. “He gave it up at the hotel why should we bother at the club, said one photographer. Flo Rida wasn’t taking any chances either and hot-footed it into the club.”

A reporter said: “It was like going back in time, celebs just don’t do things like that anymore it is so eighties.”

It had to be one of the most glam nights in showbiz as Beyonce’s lil-sister Solange Knowles celebrated her signing as the new face of Rimmel London with her international friends here in London.

Such was  the crowds anticipating her arrival, Solange was escorted through a side entrance.

Leading the International guests was Nollywood legend, Genevieve Nnaji. Genevieve star’s as the lead actress in the African/European blockbuster ‘The Mirror Boy’.

With a portfolio that includes front covers of Elle and Vogue, Super Model – Jourdan Dunn also came to support her friend Solange.

Face of hair brand Sensationnel and former contestant in Britain’s Next Top Model reality TV show, Jasmia  Robinson added to the international model lineup.

Top Caribbean model – Rachel Williams  who was profiled in last weeks Evening Standard joined the VIP guest list.

The night wasn’t just about models, DJ’s and press also partied with Solange.

The Beeb’s Radio One Xtra  line-up included Max and Sarah Jane Crawford.

The Dream-Team that currently heads up River Islands Press team included Celebrity Publicist Emmanuel and Arieta Mujay. They were joined by International Designer Zed Eye.

Beyoncé’s sister Solange played a one-off DJ set to celebrate her signing as the new face of Rimmel London.

Model Jasmia Robinson marked her debut as a recording artist with a solid performance at Flavour Live in London.

The Bedroom Lounge was full to capacity as various artist including Daddy’s Girls performed before a live audience. There were notable performances throughout the evening.

Flavour Live is a spring board to launching careers and Jasmia shared the stage with some notable performances. 

Jasmia said following her performance:  “I felt a bit overwhelmed and now I’m on a natural high. It was fantastic to have my first performance at Flavour Live because I really like the team. I’m excited and I can’t believe that its over and can’t wait for the next show. A year ago I never thought this dream would be possible, now it’s a reality and I’m so happy.” 

For her first performance Jasmia sang  Ghetto Girl (cover) and her ‘Diva Style’ debut single.

New blonde bombshell Jasmia Robinson, face of Sensationnel hair and former contestant from Britain’s Next Top Model has been creating havoc with her hair in London since going blonde. It’s too early to say whether blondes have more fun but according to the trendsetting model, “Blondes definitely do get more attention.”

When asked why she went for the blonde look? Jasmia said: “I wanted a dramatic change something so different that it would stand out. I trust Korell’s judgement so when he came to me with the idea I was excited and now I’ll be able to test theory and see if blondes really do have more fun!”

When asked about the look he has created Jasmia’s hair, celebrity hair dresser Korell Williams said: “I wanted to give Jasmia something to bring out her inner diva, I was thinking new-age Sophie Ellis Bextor, and it had to be fresh and edgy but to compliment her and give her uniqueness.” Korell added, “Not everyone can pull off this look but Jasmia is a trendsetter and can work it! It suits her look and the flash of black in the front really sets it off!”

Platinum blond Jasmia will be performing at Flavour Live on Thursday 10th February This is one of her first performances as she makes the transition from model to singer.

There is a new cool kid on the block, and we’re not talking about the beautiful model Jasmia Robinson from Britain’s Next Top Model, this kid comes with two wheels and is the brain-child of Mayor for London Boris Johnson.

The Mayor’s flagship cycling scheme – Barclays Cycle Hire, was officially launched in London this morning and was heralded a “new dawn” in London’s bid to become the greatest big cycling city in the world.

Docking one of thousands of new bicycles at a Barclay’s Hire Station, the mayor was joined by Marcus Agius, the chairman of the schemes sponsor Barclays, and London Transport Commissioner, Peter Hendy.

They were also joined by former Britain’s Next Top Model contestant and soloist Jasmia Robinson who said: “I have come down to support the launch; it’s an efficient, healthy and cost-effective way to travel across the city.”

Matthew from FLYER News said: “We’ve now road tested this bicycle for an hour. The gears are fairly smooth the transition between second and third was a bit jumpy but it was an enjoyable ride.

The bike though is not fast and it was a bit concerting being overtaken by a Brompton.

The success of the scheme will rest in whether Londoners will take to having such a big brand such as Barclay’s signposting its way across the city. Vandalism will be a serious issue but for events such as the Notting Hill Carnival, London Fashion Week etc this scheme will be in a league of its own, ten out of ten, Boris.”

We took in the sites, the London Eye, Houses of Parliament and of course the landmark that is Jerk City restaurant to get some cornmeal porridge before heading back towards Waterloo.

As with any red carpet premier behind the scenes things were definitely heating up. Sade from Fresh Strawberry provided the styling for Jasmia. “I chose a selection of dresses by upcoming designer Georgie W Couture.”

“Georgie W Couture’s collection perfectly compliments Jasmia.  We could have chosen any number of garments.” said Fresh Strawberry CEO Sade Salami.

Once Jasmia’s credentials had been verified by the media agencies Jasmia was included on the celebrity guest list and photographers ‘tip-sheets’ were updated.

“Standing before fifty photographers shouting; ‘turn this way, over-yer shoulder, eyes to the left love…’ can be a bit challenging but great fun.” Jasmia said to FLYER after the premier.

The night however belonged to the stars of the film Hrithik Roshan and Mexican beauty, Barbara Mori. Wearing a cute strapless black ruffled dress, Barbara Mori appeared relaxed and was very popular amongst the thousands of British, Asian and Bollywood fans that’d descended on the square.

‘Kites’ will be released across the UK by Reliance BIG Pictures on 21^st May 2010. The European Premiere took place on Tuesday 18th May, Odeon West End, Leicester Square London.
