Liberal Democrat MP Nick Clegg spent the day reflecting on his failure to entice the British electorate. Ironically MP Clegg’s supporting vote will decide which party will forms the new coalition government.

As neither the Conservatives nor the Labour Party emerged with the overall majority a coalition government is the only option.

Speaking outside of the Liberal Democrats headquarters in Westminster, Nick Clegg MP said he would talk firstly to the ‘party which achieved the largest public vote.’

There was chaos when Nick Clegg arrived, Press teams jostled to get a frame of the defeated Nick Clegg whose allegiance to either the Conservatives or Labour will decide who forms the ruling party.

David Lammy MP retained his seat as Labour MP for Harringey and Tottenham.

But there was no such joy for MP Dawn Butlet, who has been ousted from her seat in Brent Central by Liberal Democrat candidate Sarah Teather.

Teather gained 1,345 more votes than Butler in a contest that saw a 11 per cent vote swing in favour of the Liberal Democrats.

Butler had previously been an MP for Brent South before boundary changes forced her to contest the Brent Central seat. She was the third black woman to become a British MP and was also minister for youth citizens and youth engagement.

Dawn Butler however was the only MP who did not respond to any emails sent by FLYER Newspaper throughout this election campaign.  It is likely however that Miss Butler’s expenses which were among a number of questionable claims by whips uncovered by The Telegraph, significantly impacted on her re-selection chances.

With less than eight hours to go before polling begins, an eleventh hour campaign launched on Facebook could well swing the balance in Labours favour.

FLYER Newspaper’s survey has revealed that the voting will be far closer than the polls have revealed. With only one national newspaper openly supporting Labour, the media bias is understandably pitched to the right, however despite this one-sided media focus David Cameron’s Conservative Party has gained very little ground since the election date was announced. undetected and under-represented the cyber community will cast the last dice.

Immigration and integration has been a hot topic during this election. Neglected however has been the Facebook community that propelled Barack Obama to the white-house and stopped X-Factor’s Joe McElderry from reaching the top spot.

The minority vote which also could account for over 126 seats propelled by the Facebook generation will cast the last dice in what has become the most important decision facing a generation for decades. If you vote with your heart and not with the media your decision could determine your community’s future.

With the election looming political parties have suddenly woken up to the fact that many of their own futures could be determined by the collective voting power from the black electorate.

You could say in fact that they’re running scared.

Today, all three political leaders will be meeting at Westminster Methodist church at 6.30pm to try and put forward their cases to attract the black electorate. This is your chance to be part of the biggest political rally this campaign has ever seen. There is no excuse; your children’s futures will rely on the decisions made today.

After a twenty minute round trip to Buckingham Palace, PM Gordon Brown emerged from number 10 Downing Street and announced the date for the General Election.

“This has got to be the worlds worst kept secret.” Said Gordon Brown joking to the selected members of the press assembled in Downing Street.

Surrounded by close aids – Lord Mandelson and Chancellor, Alistair Darling PM Gordon Brown tried hard to project a united front.

The sense of unity however was soon to be tested when a FLYPICS photographer exclusively snapped Peter Hooper from Windsor who was mounting his solo protest, “I’ve been here since 7am and travelled through London to make my protest.”

“The reason I’m carrying this pig is to highlight the fact that the party is in a complete mess. These politicians have all had their noses in the trough.” Exclaimed Mr. Hooper.

Baroness Scotland will have other things on her mind as today is the start of the trial involving her former house-keeper Loloahi Tapui. 

Baroness Scotland, the most senior government lawyer rushed from Downing Street to give evidence at Southwark Magistrates Court.

The 27 year Loloahi is on trial for fraud and falsifying documents, a charge which she denies. Baroness Scotland is due to give evidence on behalf of the prosecution.
