Saving the best party till last TV actress / recording artists Preeya  Kalidas hosted the last official pre Xmas showbiz party at the Sanctum Hotel in Soho, London. 

Preeya was joined by her showbiz pals including Lisa Maffia, Terri Walker, Wretch 32 and Keisha Buchanan.

It has been a long time since we’ve seen the talented solo artist Terri Walker on UK shores.

We’ve certainly heard a lot of good things through Flyer’s contacts in the US about Teri Walker. We sure hope Terri stays in the UK for a while.

No celebration is complete without the presence of recording artist Lisa Maffia.

Fortunately we will all be seeing a lot more of Lisa Maffia  on our TV screens next month.

Claudia Webbe (Trident), Daniele Leplant (Banking) and Kanya King (Founder of the MOBO’s) were all snapped at the part at the Sanctum Hotel.

There’s not much more we can write about Keisha Buchanan who always looks sensational. The last Sugababe had it all going on as she rocked into the party at the Sanctum Hotel.

Celeb stylist Mason Smillie was there to make sure everyone was prim and proper. Mason said “Preeya looks totally amazing, she has her own style going on. This is my fourth night of partying.” Following the showbiz party many celebs continued to celebrate Christmas at the Box nightclub in Soho.

The final twist in the sorry sager known as Big Brother ended on Friday night when programme makers were branded cowards after reports they’d restricted members of the British media from attending the final showdown.

In an apparent attack on organisations critical of the series a statement restricting certain press from attending the series read; ‘We are unable to extend the invitation beyond the regular agencies and publications that have attended throughout this series.’

This comment was seen by many as a way of a climb down after many media organisations had branded the show simply boring.

Mark Weir from FLYER said: “There’s no doubting that the ultimate Big Brother game show contestant was the late Jade Goody. She represented all that was good and bad in reality game-shows. If jade was a live today she would have won without question. The fact that the British public had to endure another five years was purely greed.

“After the race-row between Jade Goody and Shilpa Shetty the producers dubbed-down the contestants and the tasks, the show lost its edge and the viewing figures dwindled.

“Viewers simply weren’t buying into this formula anymore, and it became predictable…”

Aisseyne Horgan-Wallace  a former Big Brother contestant said to FLYER last week: “I’m so glad I turned down the opportunity to take part in the Ultimate Big Brother series, even though they offered me money the public just aren’t interested in the show anymore, I will be appearing alongside Sue Elise – Nash and Eddie Kadi in a major new London movie.”

The last remaining contestant of this year’s Big Brother has sensationally walked from the Big Brother house, the most amazing thing is that Josie didn’t walk earlier.

The social experiment was always going to end in tears and true to form the reality is there is no reality. Blacks were voted off first homosexuals second and the joker in the pack rose to the top.

To be fair to the makers of the series, Big Brother has had its moments.

This years show had to compete with the World Cup, Wimbledon, Emergency Budget, Clothes Show Live, Sex and the City Premier, Glamour Awards, I-Tunes, Party in the Park, Janet Jackson visiting Brixton, Will Smith in London, Angelina Jolie, Drew Barrymore, Tom Cruise, Chris Rock, Cheryl Cole’s – Malaria and subsequent divorce, Jamaica Day, AVIVA Grand Prix….

We did have time to take a sneak peak inside the BB house on several occasions though.

To begin with what happened to Rachel Christie? We spotted her but she wasn’t picked. First bad move.

Secondly, the Black Contestants were booted off in the first six weeks, their replacements swatted like flies shortly after.

The remaining housemates were too similar and so the public tuned over and many switched off.

So what has the World gained from the last decade of Big Brother?

Lady Sov became the third house member to be booted out of the Big Brother house. The diminutive rapper immediately launched an attack on fellow house mates Stephanie Beacham and Dane Bowers.

“I could tell by the way they looked at me that they disapproved. I just I didn’t match up to their expectations.” she exclaimed.

“There bullying brought out the worst in me which reflected on how I was portrayed.” said Sov.

Lady Sov received 64% of the audience votes and was jeered by some of the crowd.

Back to base for Katia

Katia Ivonova, ex-girlfriend of Rolling Stone bassist, Ronnie wood, became the first celebrity to be evicted from the final series of Celebrity Big Brother.

Katia did her best to smile for the snappers but she couldn’t conceal her embarrassment after she was booed and jeered by the hostile crowd. “I guess I will have to learn from this experience.” said Katia after she was accused of flirting with fellow house mate Jonas (Basshunter) who appeared smitten.

Heidi Fleiss, Hollywood Madam and bookie favourite to be booted off the realityTV show, was given an easy ride in comparison when she also received her marching orders as the second contestant to be evicted from the Big Brother house.

Lady Sov however was saved from eviction and thanked her supporters: “I love my peeps.” She beamed.

Celebrity Big Brother contestant aka Lady Sovereign (Sov) tries hard to keep up her “Bad-Girl” image as she arrives at the Elstree Studio’s where the Big Brother house is located.

Sov immediately formed a close bond with wild child Sisqo who is famous for his chart topping single “Thong Song”.

Mark Weir – reporter from FLYER said: “We last met Sov four years ago at the Princes Trust Urban Music Festival. (Blue track-suit). The Sov we see today is a far more watered down version. She seems to be at a cross-road in her career.”.
