The stage was set for the launch of the annual Afro Hair and Beauty Live show which takes  place at the Business Design Centre Islington on the 29th – 30th of May 2011. This year Afro Hair & Beauty Live is celebrating its 30th Anniversary.

Talent who attended the official launch party at Tai Restaurant ORA in Central London included singer and actress Preeya Kalidas and TV personality and dance chorographer Sisco Gomez.

The Afro Hair & Beauty Live 2011 show includes a fantastic fashion show by internationally acclaimed designer Zed Eye whos creations received rave reviews at London Fashion Weeks SS11 collections.

The show will also include competitions, seminars, lots of giveaways, innovation and so much more.

Throughout Saturday delegates were preparing themselves for start of Europe’s largest African and transcultural hair show.

Amongst VIP guests included, Vanessa Amadi VAPR, Publicist Emmanuel Ezugwu, RnB artist Royston, Mason Smillie (celebrity Stylist), Irene  Shelly(Publisher), Jeff Hussain(PAK’s), Silk (Silk PR) andmany more.

Fashion Designer / entrepreneur Jimmy Choo, OBE hosted a lavish party at London’s leading Chinese restaurant Maximini.

Jimmy Choo, OBE who is also the Tourism Ambassador of Malaysia, was celebrating Malaysia’s success at the Chelsea Flower Show in which a Malaysia flower garden received top honours.

Guests included Beverley Knight and Esther Rantzen.

Speaking of success Jimmy said: “The key to success is being professional at all times and not speaking bad about anyone.

Katy Perry was mobbed by paparazzi and fans as she arrives at the BBC studios in London.

Over one hundred photographers and fans clashed outside of the BBC’s studio when US. Artist Katy Perry arrived to promote her new single ‘Teenage Dreams’.

Katy Perry, who’s engaged to Brit Comedian Russell Brand, arrived in London via Eurostar. Wearing a figure hugging blue polka dot dress to the Beeb, minders had completely underestimated the chaos that was soon to unfold.

London’s Paparazzi have a reputation for being ruthless but the situation became much worse when Katy’s personal security rounded on a number a snappers. “I know you, you’re trouble.” said her security to a photographer. This comment triggered the start of ten minutes of absolute chaos as the paparazzi completely blocked Katy’s exit plans in defiance of her minder.

A relieved looking Katy eventually made it back to the car but there were a lot of bruised ego’s accompanying her on her way back to the Grosvenor Hotel.

A reporter at the scene said: “foreign security is no match for London’s photographers many of whom are extremely disciplined.  The fact that many of them are also ex army, it beggar’s belief that a volatile situation should be ignited in such a way by her personal security, someone could’ve been seriously hurt.

If you work with photographers they are as good as gold if you challenge one you challenge them all.

These people work, eat, socialise and are even married to the industry. Many photographers’ wives work in Public Relations you simply cannot win.

This random attack put Katy Perry at considerable risk, her US. security should’ve known better.”

Also spotted at the BBC studio was London’s finest female DJ Sarah – Jane Crawford. Sarah had just finished her drive-time slot and was heading home.

We also spotted the hugely tallented Queen of Rock – Beverely Knight who’d been shopping in London’s Oxford Street.

Naomi Campbell heads home following her spectacular fashion show and charity auction which marked the start of London Fashion Week Autumn Winter collections 2010.

This year ‘Fashion For Relief’ was held in aid of The White Ribbon Alliance as it advocates for the health needs and rights of women and girls around the world, especially supporting its partners in Haiti at this time to rebuild the healthcare system for mothers and babies.

The White Ribbon Alliance, whose Global Patron is Sarah Brown, is an international coalition of organisations and individuals, active from grassroots to government and international level, saving the lives of pregnant women and newborn babies where needed around the world. Funds raised at ‘Fashion For Relief’ went towards making sure mothers and babies are at the heart of Haiti’s new health system, and to ensuring that this essential work continues in other countries where women are at risk of dying when they give birth.

Bringing together on the catwalk, top international faces of fashion, music, film, TV, sports and society. The show featured glamorous clothes by the world’s most renowned and respected fashion designers including; Vivienne Westwood, Jaeger, Dolce & Gabbana and the late Alexander McQueen.

Speaking after the fashion show Naomi’s mother Valerie said: ‘It’s unbelievable, today we have collected over £1m pounds, and we have raised more than New York, I’m so proud.’

Beaming from ear to ear Naomi thanked well wishers and headed to a private party in Kensington.
