Wearing a summer dress, Loloahi Tapui, Baroness Scotland’s former house-keeper was today found guilty of fraud, possessing a false identity document, and for overstaying her student visa. She was cleared of possessing false identity documents with intent.

Arriving at Southwark Crown Court, 9.15am Loloahi looked calm and composed. “We’re not even sure that Loloahi realized the severity of the situation.” remarked Matthew from FLYER.

The jury which consisted of eight men and four women took less than one hour in delivering their verdict. Loloahi showed no emotion as the verdicts where read.

Baroness Scotland who made one court-room appearance was not present as the verdicts were delivered.

Lady Scotland said earlier she was confident Tapui had the right to remain and work in the UK partly because her husband, Alex Zivancevic, was a lawyer and spoke with an English accent.

During the trial Tapui also confirmed she was paid £95,000 for her story by the Mail on Sunday, with a £19,000 commission payment going to PR expert Max Clifford.

In summing up the judge warned Tapui the offences for which she faced sentence were “very serious”. Tapui was bailed, electronically tagged and will appear on the 7th May 2010 where she will face sentencing.

Duncan Penny, prosecuting, continued to cross-examine Tapui regarding her work references. Tapui however admitted showing Baroness Scotland her previous job references and her CV but denied showing Baroness Scotland her passport.

Asked by Duncan Penny, if, by taking her CV, she “intended to suggest to the reader that the individual, namely you, had been working legally”, Tapui said: “Yes”. Asked by the judge why she took her pay slips to the interview, Tapui said: “I had my pay slips; I had my (national) insurance numbers in it to be able to show her that I pay tax and national insurance as proof of employment.”

Patricia Bailey, 60 year old property developer accused of anti-social behavior and harassing her neighbours, appeared this week at Southwark Crown court in her bid to overturn her nationwide imposed Anti Social Behavior Order (ASBO) .

Bailey’s previous trial at Westminster, the magistrate reportedly said: ‘If it was up to me I would ban you from the entire planet.”That after hearing how she had reportedly accused women at a charity meeting as being ‘whores’.

Mrs. Bailey believes however that she was in fact the victim and that the accusers had somehow managed to reverse facts.

The case continues.

A Tongan housekeeper who was illegally employed by the Attorney General today admitting using a fake British visa for more than two years. The former housekeeper pleaded guilty to possessing a false document at Southwark Crown Court but she denied a further charge of fraud, rejecting the allegation that she used the counterfeit document to establish facts about herself and earn money as a cleaner.

It is believed Loloahi Tapui opted to be tried in the Crown Court, which risks a more severe sentence if she is found guilty to ensure a showdown with the Attorney General Baroness Scotland who will now be called to give evidence.

If convicted of fraud, Loloahi could face a maximum sentence of ten years in prison. Loloahi greeted photographers with a smile but Matthew from FLYER said: “The pressure of the trial and the media interest were clearly visible and probably even un-foreseen.”

Following her expose in a Sunday newspaper Tapui has enlisted the help from celebrity agent Max Clifford who watched proceedings from the public gallery.

Christopher Hehir, defending, told the court his client was pleading guilty on the basis that the visa stamp was fake but that the passport itself was real. The date of the trial has been set for April 2010.
