Police are refusing to rule out a link between a spate of teenage stabbings that last night resulted in the death of a seventeen year old in Walthamstow, east London.

Metropolitan Police and the London Ambulance services were called to the scene following an altercation between youths at approximately 10.30pm in Walthamstow high-street. They found a seventeen year old suffering from stab wounds. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Commuters heading to work found much of the high-street cordoned off this morning which remained throughout the day as police forensic teams meticulously scoured the streets for evidence.

It is hoped that the relatively cold weather spell and the speed in-which police teams arrived on the scene will lead to some quick arrests.

A local policeman said: “We have been inundated with enquires from the general public but at this time I cannot release any more information.”

It is however believed from local sources that the deceased is in-fact a local youth of around seventeen years of age however local reporters have been met with a wall of silence from local people. To date there has been no-further information released to the press.

The English Defence League (EDL) plummeted to new depths today by parading several of their new recruits. They had hoped that by including a few deluded Black and Asian recruits they could somehow convince the public that they are no-longer considered a racist organisation and an extra arm of the British National Party.

The planned demonstration coincided with the controversial visit to England of Dutch far right extremist Gert Wilders who reportedly described the Koran as a fascist book.

Arriving in Parliament square at 3.30pm the EDL were confronted by over 300 anti fascist demonstrators. Police funnelled them onto a small grassy verge for their own protection and the opposing sides traded insults.

Mark Weir, reporter at the scene said: “The EDL supporters appeared to have changed their tactics since the violent demonstrations in Luton, Harrow and Birmingham. However their  attempts to convince the public into believing that they are not just a party simply made-up of racist football thugs is unlikely to have been achieved today. They were out-numbered and given a police escort for there own protection.

Sensing that the anti-fascist demonstrators had gained the upper-hand the EDL could only counter with chants such as “England for English….and ban the Burka…”

When this didn’t work two dejected looking black and Asian youth’s were hoisted onto the shoulders of two stocky looking EDL individuals for an impromptu photocal.

This despicable act by individuals hell-bent on using every tool at their disposal in an attempt to be seen as a legitimate organisation should be viewed as warning to minority communities living in Britain.

In the run-up to the general election these thugs will stop at nothing in their attempts to achieve a non inclusive Britain. Minority communities should be vigilant.” said Mark Weir.

If there was a prize for ‘The most visited shows’ then Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts would’ve achieved first place. She was mobbed by fans and then posed for some pictures with representatives campaigning for more models from diverse backgrounds.

Keeping it in the family, Peaches and sister Pixie Geldof daughters of Bob Geldof shared their time equally. ‘FLYSPY’ spotted the girls at Henry Holland, Pam Hogg and Unique but we suspect they visited many more. Pixie was joined by pals Alexa Chung and Remi Nicole at Unique.

Talloula Adejemi the UK’s favourite model of the moment was spotted at Vivien Westwood, Amanda Wakely, PPQ and Fashion for Relief. She was joined by X-Factor babe- Alexandra Burke.

Pixie Lott was snapped at PPQ and rocked in metallic turquoise.

Noisettes front women Shingai Shinowa was the star attraction at Basso and Brooke.

The Saturdays were spotted at Jaeger.

The Sugagababes were spotted leaving Jasper Conran’s fantastic show.

Naomi Harris was snapped arriving at Viv Westwood’s show, Kate Moss tried to leave discretely but dropped her handbag. Paparazzi seized on the moment.

Kate reportedly said… “Not even one paparazzo offered to hand me back my bag.”

This year ‘Fashion For Relief’ was held in aid of The White Ribbon Alliance as it advocates for the health needs and rights of women and girls around the world, especially supporting its partners in Haiti at this time to rebuild the healthcare system for mothers and babies.

The White Ribbon Alliance, whose Global Patron is Sarah Brown, is an international coalition of organisations and individuals, active from grassroots to government and international level, saving the lives of pregnant women and newborn babies where needed around the world. Funds raised at ‘Fashion For Relief’ went towards making sure mothers and babies are at the heart of Haiti’s new health system, and to ensuring that this essential work continues in other countries where women are at risk of dying when they give birth.

Bringing together on the catwalk, top international faces of fashion, music, film, TV, sports and society. The show featured glamorous clothes by the world’s most renowned and respected fashion designers including; Vivienne Westwood, Jaeger, Dolce & Gabbana and the late Alexander McQueen.

Speaking after the fashion show Naomi’s mother Valerie said: ‘It’s unbelievable, today we have collected over £1m pounds, and we have raised more than New York, I’m so proud.’

Beaming from ear to ear Naomi thanked well wishers and headed to a private party in Kensington.

The High Schools Street Dance Championships has teemed up with Beat Bullying empowering thousands of young people across England with the confidence to combat bullying at school, in their community and online.

The first of its kind in the country, the collaboration hopes to resonate heavily with young people throughout England. Street dance is the most popular form of Dance in the UK and this innovative partnership will not only promote self-confidence and healthy lifestyle, but will also provide a unique platform for young people to stand up against bullying.

The inter-high school competition will support Beat Bullying by providing various resources including information packs and wristbands at all regional finals, as well as attending the launch alongside Kimberley Wyatt, Chipmunk, George Sampson, Ashley Banjo and Sisco Gomez.

Kimberley said: “I’m supporting UDO because the spark in popularity of dance in the younger generations has been incredible! Dance is such a great way to give kids a sense of accomplishment and self worth. I hope my involvement inspires them to dream big, believe in themselves, and go for it.”

Not even the torrential rain and sub-zero temperatures could dampen the spirits of one of the UK’s most prestigious nights on the music calendar. Carrying the flag for England was Lilly Allen. But if there was an award for over-hyped- red carpet arrivals then Lady Gaga’s would have added another award to her tally of three.

Allen who has reportedly threatened to give up music for acting was pitched against her flamboyant US counterpart, public exhibitionist Lady Gaga (Stefani Germanotta). Bookies favourite Gaga brushed the Brits aside by winning three gongs.

On the fashion front the US chart topper Alecia Keys stole the headlines but poor Alexandra Burke can’t seem to hit the right note with her red-ball gown.

Credited with bring grime music to the mainstream Dizzee Rascal took home the award for best British male solo artist. “It’s about –time.” said the much deserved artist in accepting his award.

Croydon boys JLS also proved that perseverance can lead to success. They scooped a bevy of awards including: British Break-through act and British Single.

N-Dubz however will have to wait another year but that didn’t stop them from partying hard. Tulissa looked a little worse for wear at a pre-party event and later admitted she hadn’t realised her leggings were see-through.

Following her success after being crowned Miss Black-Britain 2009, Rikaya Tagoe has joined forces with her sister Chantelle to launch the ‘Tagoe Sisters’.

The launch took place at the ‘Collection’ in South Kensington, London.

Speaking at the launch Rikaya said: “The aim of our brand is to bring together beauty, quirky personalities and multiculturalism to the world of fashion.”

Chantelle who is the partner of England international footballer Emile Heskey also works as a TV presenter.

One Young World Summit:
London became the focus for the ‘One Young World Summit’ which sort to promote world unity through the next generation of world leaders.  1500 young people from across the globe participated in the three day workshops in which global figure-heads Sir Bob Geldof, Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Koffi Annan were on hand to encourage and listen to the views of young people. They were joined on stage by Mayor of London Boris Johnson.

Archbishop Desmond Tutu prompted the media to have a mandate to report positive news with regards to young people. He said: “You the media have a role to play. We need you to write about all the positive things that young people do in their gap year or the voluntary work that engage so many young people.”

During the summit young people were reminded of the personal sacrifices that had made by world citizens who were also once young but who went on to re-shape and inspire the world.

These included:  Nelson Mandela,  South Africa’s first democratic leader who’s struggle brought an end to racial division and segregation in his country.

Mohamad  Yanus, prize winning economist who developed a highly successful credit and loan program, becoming a ‘banker for the poor’.

Celebrating its 30th birthday – The BRIT Awards 2010 with MasterCard will showcase the sheer depth and diversity of British and International music talent from the past year’s big releases. The big night out in the British music calendar will take place at London’s Earls Court Arena on Tuesday 16 February and screened live to millions on ITV1.

Featured in the nominations list is an eclectic and impressive range of artists who have enjoyed success both in the UK and around the world in 2009. Their achievements have been recognised by the 1000 strong BRITs Academy. The nominations in twelve categories were announced at a media packed launch party, hosted by Radio 1’s Fearne Cotton, at London’s indigO2.

Leading the way with three BRIT nominations each are a quartet of pops finest ladies, UK’s Florence & The Machine, Lily Allen, Pixie Lott and that all American phenomenon Lady Gaga. They will be going head to head in a battle of the females. Having been crowned the most successful selling artist of 2009, with her single ‘Poker Face,’ Lady Gaga makes her BRIT Awards nominations debut with a well-deserved three nominations. Short listed for International Female Solo Artist, International Breakthrough Act and International Album for ‘The Fame’, Lady Gaga will look to be one of the most coveted International acts at The BRITs for many years.

Coming out on top with her critically acclaimed second album ‘It’s Not Me, It’s You’ Lily Allen takes three nominations, going up against Florence & The Machine for British Female Solo Artist, MasterCard British Album and British Single of the Year for ‘The Fear’. UK newcomer Pixie Lott has stormed the charts with her debut single ‘Mama Do’ which goes up against La Roux, JLS, Lily Allen and Cheryl Cole amongst others for British Single of the Year. Pixie is also nominated for British Female Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act.

The Anglo American battle will be heavily fought between Dizzee Rascal and American heavy-weight Jay-Z who received double nominations. Dizzee Rascal, heralded as bringing Grime back to the forefront of UK music – paving the way for artists such as N-Dubz and Tinchy Stryder, goes for a win in the categories for British Male Solo Artist and MasterCard British Album. Standing in Dizzee’s way in the British Male Solo Artist category are Calvin Harris, Mika, Robbie Williams and Scotland’s finest, Paolo Nutini who is a two-time nominee. Paolo is also nominated for his superb ‘Sunny Side Up’ album in the MasterCard British Album category.

To celebrate The BRIT Awards 30th anniversayr, The BRITs 2010 will see two retrospective categories introduced to pay homage to the biggest selling album successes and most memorable live performances of the past 30 years.

The ‘BRITs Memorable Performance of 30 Years’ Award will see a shortlist of stunning live performances from BRITs history showcased on a special ‘BRITs Hits 30’ television special broadcast by ITV1 on Saturday 23 January hosted by Mel B. Once aired, viewers will be able to vote online through the itv.com/brits and gm.tv websites with the winner being announced at the main show on 16 February at Earls Court.

Lady Sov became the third house member to be booted out of the Big Brother house. The diminutive rapper immediately launched an attack on fellow house mates Stephanie Beacham and Dane Bowers.

“I could tell by the way they looked at me that they disapproved. I just I didn’t match up to their expectations.” she exclaimed.

“There bullying brought out the worst in me which reflected on how I was portrayed.” said Sov.

Lady Sov received 64% of the audience votes and was jeered by some of the crowd.
