The Saturdays were one woman down for their first major gig of the year at the ASDA Tickled Pink Girls’ Night Out concert at the Shepherds Bush 02 in London.

Confusion surrounded the mystery why band member Vanessa White didn’t take to the stage last night at the Shepherds Bush 02.

One fan told Flyer: “We heard the sound checks and Vanessa seemed to be struggling vocally.” According to reports Vanessa left the building being consoled by band mate Rochelle Wiseman.

Vanessa was apparently fighting off an illness and therefore was not able to perform.

Meanwhile the remaining girls, Una, Rochelle, Frankie and Molly rocked a solid performance and greeted fans off stage.

Rochelle wearing a dressing gown to keep warm took to her phone. We imagine to chat about her performance with her boyfriend Marvin from boy band JLS.

JLS were snapped at Nobu Restaurant in Mayfair.

A heavily pregnant Una Healy under the watchful eye of Frankie Sandford greeted well-wishers before  heading back  to their Hotel.

Michelle Keegan was spotted leaving the Mayfair Hotel in London.

The actress was surprised to see over 100 fans waiting outside.

Michelle was relieved to find that the fans were not actually waiting for her but had been tricked into believing Leonardo Dicaprio was attending a premier at the Mayfair.

The UK Premiere of War Horse took place on Sunday 8th January 2012, at the Odeon Leicester Square. The glittering event which was held in aid of The Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry, was supported by Patrons Their Royal Highnesses. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were in attendance alongside director Steven Spielberg and the exceptional British cast.

600 serving and ex-serving military personnel and their families also attended the Premiere, alongside beneficiaries of military charities, with which the Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry is working. The servicemen and women have been invited from The Duke of Cambridge’s regiments, including RAF Search and Rescue, Household Cavalry, Irish Guards and the Royal Air Force.

Director Steven Spielberg said “I am delighted that the UK Premiere of War Horse is in aid of The Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry and that this special occasion is attended by two of the patrons, Their Royal Highnesses, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

War Horse encapsulates for me a timeless personal story of courage. The movie, which I am proud to say was filmed here in Great Britain, deals with the discovery of humanity against conflict, and celebrates bravery, loyalty, tenacity and hope. We are honoured to dedicate this event in aid of the Foundation which recognises the welfare of those who serve their country in the British Armed Forces.”

War Horse began its journey in 1982 when Michael Morpurgo’s timeless novel was first published. It then went on to become a hugely successful multi- award winning National Theatre stage production which continues to impress audiences in the UK at the New London Theatre and now on Broadway.

Now an epic motion picture, filmed exclusively here in Britain, by one of the great directors in film history, Sunday’s UK premiere completed the journey to the big screen, with many of the stars and filmmakers in London to celebrate War Horse’s home coming.

What’s more, for the first time, the equine star of this beloved story, Joey, walked the majestic red carpet.

Amongst the cast included the talented Tom Hiddleston and Jeremy Irvine who were spotted last night in Soho.

Walking the red carpet also was up-coming actress Celine Buckens.

Emily Watson who we also snapped the previous night in Soho added a touch of star quality to the European premier.

Structured Reality TV star Francesca Hull from Made in Chelsea also attended the event.

Temperatures in the UK may have plummeted just above zero so the ray of sunshine that is Destiny’s Child singer Michelle Williams who performed at the Westbury Gallery last night was greatly appreciated.

The event was rumoured to have been hosted by her band mate – Kelly Rowland however it was believed Kelly was stuck in rehearsals for an up-coming gig.

Michelle rocked into the Westbury at 5.30pm and after some last-minute sound cheques Michelle was ready to perform.

The last time we saw Michelle, Michelle was performing at Wembley Stadium’s NFL, today was a much smaller scale however the impact on the viewers were similar.

Patrick Weir from Flyer said: “Michelle is naturally slim but her voice radiated. There’s nothing negative you could say about this performance. The crowd loved her.”

Headlining the runway was the plus-sized super model Toccara. Fame and fortune has followed Toccara since appearing in America’s Next Top Model (ANTM) 2006.

Tocarra has fronted many campaigns across the US and appeared on the front cover of numerous magazines including King Magazine.

Director of Models of Diversity, Angel Sinclair said: ”Our mission is to change the face of fashion and modelling, we’re exercising our right to campaign for equal rights and opportunities within the modelling and fashion industry.”

Former winner of Americas Next Top Model Whitney Thompson also visited the UK to take part in Curves Couture fashion show.

Showcasing her debut see-thru collection Fashion Designer Danielle Liane (below left) said: “OMG it was a really fantastic show. This is my first public collection, the collection is not inspired by anything other than the fact I enjoy designing using see-thru materials.”

Designers featured at Curves to Couture included: Anna Scholz, Erin Lacy, Carolyn de la Drapiére, Danielle Liane, Jill Alexander, Ilda Di Vico, Renaissance.

Ilda Di Vico wowed the audience with her exquisite range of hats.

Arriving in a colour coordinated 60’s inspired dress, Tulisa Contostavlos X Factor judge and N-Dubz vocalist  greeted fans at the launch of her new fragrance ‘The Female Boss’ in London’s Oxford Street yesterday.

Some fans had queued patiently for over eight hours to catch a glimpse of the North London TV talent. Speaking to Flyer Newspaper’s reporter one fan said:  “I’ve been fans of N-Dubz long before Tulisa became a TV personality. What I like about Tulisa and N-Dubz in particularly is that they’re not products of reality TV.”

Arriving fashionable late Tulisa rocked in black and red and extended her scheduled time by oven half an hour.

Friends Katrina and Hanna commented:  TFB is not too overstated or even very expensive. It should appeal to a wide range of customers.”

The perfume bottle is purple and shaped not too dissimilar to a miniature wine bottle; the logo design is distinctive and is said to have been based on a tattoo Tulisa has on her forearm.

There were chaotic scenes in Westminster yesterday when News Corp. chairman-CEO Rupert Murdoch, his son James and News International CEO Rebekah Brooks were summoned by the British Parliament committee investigating his hacking scandal.

As the Worlds media descended on the steps of Parliament to catch a glimpse of News Corps CEO Rupert Murdoch, they were unaware of the fact that CEO Rupert and James Murdoch, Rebekah, were being directed to a side entrance.

The Murdoch’s and Brooks were quizzed by the Culture, Media and Sport Committee to shed light on evidence given to the committee, where executives had said News Corp.’s U.K. newspaper unit News International had paid police.

Former Metropolitan Police commissioner Sir Paul Stephenson and John Yates, the former assistant chief constable at the Met also faced questions and were pictured by FLYER arriving at court via a side entrance. They were whisked through to an underground car park.

In a twist not even the News of the world could conduct, CEO Rupert Murdoch had a plate of foam sprayed in his face. His wife came to his defense and attached the assailant. 

“Murdoch is lucky to have a wife who doubles as a bodyguard. Multi-tasking skill is 1 of the best things about being a woman.” Tweeted model /DJ Tolula Adeyemi.

Mark Weir from Flyer said: “The speed of events has taken everybody by surprise. The hunters have now become the hunted. Reporters following Rebekah have said; ‘She has taken every effort not to be pictured.’ Rupert Murdoch said; ‘The News Of The World represented only 1% of his business.” He also said “This was the most humble experience of his life.” However journalists following the case have pointed out that perhaps the apology to the parents of murdered school girl Milly Dowler should perhaps have been his most humble experience.”

Our favourite window display of the night was that created by Marian Kihogo which fused western and African culture. London is a cultural hub and this display challenged convention and still managed to retained D&G’s brand of classic and quirky.

Marian said: “I was contacted several weeks before the event. It was a challenge but D&G are excellent at coming up with these original ideas. I’m really happy with what I have created today but I’m also exhausted.”

Today, students from Saint Martin’s College, London stripped down to their pants in support of Fairtrade Fortnight and to coincide with the launch of a new report, in Senegal, which details how trade rules effect African cotton farmers.

Pants to Poverty is the UK’s leading Fairtrade underwear company.

Ben Ramsden, the social entrepreneur and founder of Pants to Poverty will be a leading voice in the year’s Fairtrade Fortnight and this year led students on a ‘Pants Flash catwalk’ through central London in support of the cause.

Ben Ramsden, commented: “This Pants Walk is an excellent way to highlight the issues facing cotton traders in India and West Africa and also to show how London is a fair-trade city leading the way in promoting ethical fashion.

“Pants to Poverty represents just how fashionable Fairtrade products have become and the need for them now to be embraced by the high street.”

The ‘Pants Walk’ will coincide with a new Fairtrade Foundation report on cotton, launched in Senegal at the World Social Forum ahead of the international Fairtrade Fortnight (28th February – 13th March).

Neo Moeti, a first year foundation student from Saint Martins College who took part in the  walk said: “I’m really interested in ethical design. I will be specialising in ethical product design for my degree.

When I heard  about the concept I thought, why not?, this seems like a really great idea. I’ve  had so much fun today I can’t wait to do this again.”
