Its a wrap – Rita Ora launches R.I.P in London

Wearing a figure hugging Kim Wilde dress, and jewellery by Asprey, Rock Nation’s Rita Ora clearly set out to make an impact when she stepped out for the launch of R.I.P. in London.

For anyone who has known Rita for the past few years, networking really is her thing and this launch was somewhat of a celebration for those who’ve supported the star over the past few years.

With friends who include Drake and Tinie Tempah Rita really has a solid network of support.

The R.I.P press party was held at Asprey, Mayfair, and was attended by guests who included vocalist VV Brown and Pixie Geldof and Tinie Tempah.

Also launching her debut album this week was the fantastic Nigerian Artists May7ven. The 1st Lady of Afrobeats, May Yemisi Odegbami better known by her stage name May7ven (nicknamed a she was born on the 7th of May).

Speaking to FLYER May7ven said: “I’m naturally doing my launch on my Birthday ‘May the 7th’.

Introduced into the mainstream music industry in 2008, she released a debut single and MTV UK top 10 chart music video “Hands Up”. She followed up with the triple award wining single/music video for “Take of my clothes/Bo Aso La Ra Mi” in 2009 which also topped the MTV Base UK, European and African top 10 charts simultaneously which won her, her 1st NMVA Award for Best Music Video in 2009 plus numerous other awards including features and positive reviews on RnB Music weekly charts, DJ World charts, features on the MOBO Awards, RWD, Voice, Guardian, This Day, UMA and generous radio airplay Choice FM, Kiss FM, BBC 1xtra, Galaxy and so much more in the UK.

Also in town was England Women Football Captain Rachel Yankey who attended the Best Of Africa awards in London.

London Saxophonist Yolanda Brown also attended the Best Of Africa awards.
