OK! Nigeria’s London launch
The wait is finally over as Londoners got a chance to celebrate the launch of OK! Nigeria magazine last night in London.
The launch night got underway at the Nigerian High Commission in the heart of London’s trendy West End. Talent from the World of fashion, film and entertainment rubbed shoulders with international media who had also attended the London launch.
Branching the OK! Magazine brand into Nigeria will certainly be a challenge however OK! Nigeria franchise holder Alexander Amosu believes that this is a risk worth taking.
Alexandra Amosu said “This is the most challenging business I have started. When I told people I was going into the World of publishing they advised me to prepare for a bottomless pit of expenditure. Then I mentioned that the venture was going to be in Nigeria and their reaction became, ‘God save you.’
There was also a positive outlook in London. MD of Mahogany Models Sola said: “This will become hugely popular in Nigeria. The brand is well established in Europe and will definitely do well throughout Nigeria and the Diaspora.”
OK! Nigeria’s launch edition comprises of over 100 pages of celebrity entertainment and news. Alexandra Amosu has drawn together a dream team of editors and journalist which has enriched the process.
OK! Magazine reporter, Janelle Oswald sparkled in this Gisella Couture dress. Janelle also wore an Elisha Francis ring and a clutch bag from n Damus.
OK! Nigeria Editor-in-Chief Deidre Forbes rocked with this on-trend floral dress. Deidre is pictured with ‘Top Model of Colour 2011 title holder Janitta Francis.

Reality TV star Amy Willerton who shot to fame after winning Katy Price’s model search denied ever even talking to Price’s Ex partner Alex Reid as reported in the media last weekend. “I don’t know where they got that from but I’ve never actually spoken to him,” said Amy to Flyer News. Amy is pictured with Reality TV star Aletha Shepherd.
UK based artist/vocalist Egypt also attended the star-studded event in London.
Fashion’s royalty Mason and River Islands Marketing guru Arieta Mujay were popular guests on this red carpet.
Arieta is also pictured with celebrity publicist Emmanuel Ezugwu.
Situated on the Kings Road, London is Jada Styles clothing company. Jada styles clientele includes many of the UK’s leading Premiership Football players. Jada who attended the launch night said: “We don’t unfortunately have Women’s wear,” however the stylish entrepreneur has not ruled out the possibility of featuring women’s wear in the future.
Fashion designer / model Mary Shittu also rocked in green at the red carpet launch party.
The last time we saw Chi Chi, (Miss Nigeria UK) winner, she was running a half marathon in Battersea Park. Chi Chi rocked in gold at the event.
2010 Top Model of Colour winner Nana Afua Antwi looked beautiful in her floral skirt and blue blazer.
Since appearing on X Factor UK Tiwa’s music career has gone sky high. Tiwa arrived with leading publicist Vanessa Amadi.
She may be small in stature but Trayc Cohen, X Factor 2010 finalist made a big impression at the OK! Nigeria launch in London.
Comedian/TV Actress Miss Jocelyn does not really need an introduction. Jocelyn was perfectly pitched for this launch night.
Anyone who has watched James bond will certainly have seen Amanda Foster. Amanda Foster is Europe’s leading stunt woman who doubled for Halle Berry during the dangerous scenes in Die Another Day.
Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade is featured on the cover of OK! Nigeria. The actress rocked in red in London and created a media frenzy amongst the paparazzi when she departed the launch party in London.
