Class above – Estelle heads back to school
Year 10/11 pupils at Gladesmore Community School in Tottenham, London had the shock of their lives when singing sensation Estelle made a surprise to their music class this morning.
Head Teacher, Tony Hartley CBE said: “It’s been great to have a talent such as Estelle visit us today.
“Many children dream of becoming a pilot or an astronaut when they are young. However for some children, they become disillusioned after they have reached their teenage years.
“Here at Gladesmore we encourage all our children to reach for their dreams and believe that they too can achieve. Estelle’s visit will help some students move a step closer in believing that their goals are achievable.”
Estelle said: “Nothing in life is easy, you basically have to work very hard. When things are too easy you have to question why?”
Estelle exclaimed: “Doors wouldn’t open for me until I’d started my own record label and had my first hit single. I basically saved up all of my money and then travelled.
It was only after I had done all the hard work that a few people noticed me.”
“You have to be prepared to get up really early and work very hard. You need to focus not just on your school work but every aspect of your life,” said Estelle.
Few people at the end of this music session could doubt the impact of Estelle’s visit. Following her visit Estelle commented: “The children were just so lovely.”

This is were it is at: going in to schools, making your success relatable and inspire the youth. You never know who’s life and how you affect in that way for some these kind of experiences will propel them.
