Hundreds attend X Factor auditions in London
X Factor auditions were held this weekend over at the Excel centre in the Docklands, East London. Security was extremely tight as X Factor staff and security tried desperately to implement a 600 metre press exclusion zone surrounding the Excel building. “We can’t even use our camera phones.” protested a security officer.
The X Factor auditions have now become an institution but last years winner Joe McElderry became the very first victim of a media-backlash resulting in Rage Against the Machine securing the top slot in the Christmas charts. One hopes that The X Factor will not suffer the same fate as Big-Brother.
Mini and Nneka (pictured above) said “We’ve been waiting for hours in the rain and it’s completely ruined my clothes but we’re optimistic the wait will be worth it in the end.”
Stedman and Jeffrey (Misunderstood) are pictured above with soloist Danielle. Danielle’s mother said; “Although it’s been a long wait for the youngsters, the whole experience has been extremely useful.”
Singer’s Yemi (right) and her friend Jade (left) above were also hoping for a positive response.
“Music is my passion and an integral part of my life; regardless of the result today I will continue to fulfil my potential.
Today I will be performing a fusion of Gospel and Indie.” Said Yemi proudly.
For one family however rejection was hard to swallow. “Not one person from my daughters section progressed through to the next round. My daughter was told that she had the wrong attitude which couldn’t have been further from the truth. I will be making a formal complaint tomorrow.” She said.
